The American Ranch Sanitary District was formed as a Special Taxing District in 2001 under the Arizona Revised Statutes Title 48. In 2009 the Sanitary District was converted to and combined with the American Ranch Domestic Water Improvement District to provide both water and sewer service under one Special Taxing District.

The original construction of the Ashbrooke wastewater treatment plant and low pressure sewer system was completed by the subdivision developer, the M-3 Companies. Once complete the treatment facility and sewer system were conveyed to the District. This type of low pressure system requires an on-site grinder/pressure unit to be installed by each individual connection. Refer to the District Ordinance or contact the District Office for more information.

Copies of District documents are available upon written request. Hard copies are charged at .25 per page/per side plus postage for mailing. Documents sent via email are no charge, unless large quantities of documents are requested requiring a considerable amount of staff time.
